Bette Davis inspired by Peg Entwistle

' In 1926, she saw a production of Henrik Ibsen's The Wild Duckwith Blanche Yurka and Peg Entwistle, a well-known Broadway actress who killed herself in 1932 by jumping off the H of the Hollywood Sign. Davis later recalled for Al Cohn of Newsday, "The reason I wanted to go into theater was because of an actress named Peg Entwistle."[12] '
